Toxic Need For Validation

July 9, 2024“It is a fine line between comforting-beliefs and delusions.”
Although a belief is a prerequisite for knowledge, there is a big difference between believing and knowing. Hence why Theory of Self-Relativity designates “Faith, Hope, & Beliefs” as one of the 10-Enemies of self-improvement. Because a belief is a mindset that we are convinced or we assume to be true but we don’t “know” if it is true. When a belief is supported with facts and reason, a belief becomes knowledge.
Since beliefs are assumed; therefore, a belief must only be a temporary mindset until proven with facts. If supportive facts to a belief cannot be found, the belief could be a fallaciously comforting mindset. A mindset that is based on wishful-hope, unsubstantiated-faith, or a comforting-belief without supportive evidence, is no different than a delusion that a compromised mind might be experiencing.
No matter how comforting or how real a belief might seem to us; at some point, beliefs must be turned into knowledge. Hence why Self-Relativity further states:
“When you believe, you assume that you know, but you don’t know that you know.”
