October 19, 2024“To fix a problem, we must address the cause, not rationalize the symptom.”
Likewise, to find the answer to something, we must first ask the right question.
However, identifying problems, let alone solving them, requires time and effort, which means when dealing with negativity, immediate-gratification is not a viable option. Although humans inherently want to feel better quickly, we can’t truly feel better unless we first resolve the issues that are making us uncomfortable or unhappy. Yet, especially in the modern-times, feeling better quickly is falsely taking precedence over addressing and correcting the issues that need fixing.
If we don’t resolve the underlying causes of our negativities so that we can truly feel better, any other attempt to feeling better will simply be unstable because it will be a band-aid cover-up. This is why Theory of Self-Relativity states:
“The need to feel good, versus the necessity to think well, is the main cause of our inability to improve.”
