June 30, 2024“Claims of importance are a means of justifying and rationalizing insignificance.”
Self-confident people do not constantly try to prove their confidence, their importance, or their significance to themselves or to others. Self-secure people know of their own confidence and they let their actions do the work. But most importantly, truly self-assured people do not do things because they have a point to prove; their mindset is a byproduct of their positive self-image.
Anytime you see a person boasting or untimely communicating positive personal-attributes that should be left for others to recognize, it is wise to consider that the person is trying to force recognition of such attributes above and beyond what he or she believes to have. If you truly have a certain positive trait, you wouldn’t need to constantly justify it to your Self or to others. Other similar examples are:
“Claims of confidence are a means of justifying and rationalizing doubt.”
“Claims of happiness are a means of justifying and rationalizing unhappiness.”
“Claims of power are a means of justifying and rationalizing weakness.”
“Claims of popularity are a means of justifying and rationalizing mediocrity.”
