As sentient beings we are constantly looking for ways to quickly become happy and not deal with negativities. Yet, as intelligent beings, instead of using our intelligence to resolve the difficulties in our lives, we use our intelligence to create fallacious-thoughts to support our desired feelings. We can either face our difficulties and put in effort to resolve and improve them; or we can come up with false reasonings and magical-thinking to temporarily convince ourselves things will get better on their own without addressing the root causes of our negativities. As further stated in Self-Relativity:
“To fix a problem, we must address the cause, not rationalize the symptom.”
