November 23, 2021Money can save you lots of misery, but it can’t buy you lasting happiness.
One of the original quotes from Theory of Self-Relativity on the subject of success states; “Wealth, fame and power are simply byproducts of success. True success is measured by the level of your fulfillment.”
Many are incorrectly under the misimpression that success is associated with money and financial wealth. Although money can alleviate a great deal of our modern living requirements and necessities because money is the medium that we use to exchange for goods and services; what many fail to recognize is that excess monetary and material success, if achieved as a means of self-validation and increasing personal and social value will not accomplish personal-fulfillment and it could potentially result in an even more of a negative personal self-image and a diminished sense of self-worth. This is why there are many over-achievers and famous and wealthy individuals who are not happy and end up in getting involved with addictive substances and behaviors and some even end up committing suicide.
To truly feel successful; we must achieve an increasing sense of fulfillment from our success. Therefore, to feel successful and fulfilled, we must achieve validation and worth internally and not externally.
