Factual-Thinking & Reality
November 1, 2024Conformity
November 8, 2024“A sure way to sabotage a new social interaction is to discuss religion or politics.”
As stated in Theory of Self-Relativity, our self-identity must be created by our thinking and from within. However, for many, their self-identity incorrectly comes from external things and ideological beliefs that are as a result of cultural, societal and religious acceptance. This is why, for many, their religious or political beliefs becomes a part of their self-identity, because conformity creates acceptance. And when their religious or political beliefs are challenged by other ideologies, or more specifically, by facts and reason; these individuals become defensive, offended, or threatening against such challenges.
Religion and politics are the primary means of modern-tribalism, whereby they create an externally derived common connection to congregate people. Hence why Self-Relativity states:
“Modern Tribalism isn’t as much about loving the tribe, as it is about hating others.”
