November 1, 2024“Sarcasm: The defense-mechanism of an insecure or dishonest person who feels challenged without provocation.”
Although sarcasm, when used sporadically could be a means of enlivening a situation; according to Theory of Self-Relativity, when sarcasm is used as a defense-mechanism, it becomes a means of denying and ignoring the uncomfortable facts that someone or something is conveying to the sarcastic-person. In simple terms, sarcasm is used when sarcastic-people do not like how others are making them feel.
Sarcasm, when overused, is intended to be a passive-aggressive behavior in the form of personal-attacks on others; which indicates that the sarcastic-person does not have the knowledge, the experience, or the confidence to confront the dislikable, but often, the true comments that another person made to the sarcastic-person.
