Rationalization
October 8, 2024Cause vs Symptom
October 15, 2024“To love others, we must first have self-love; not because we are needy for love, but because we know how to love.”
In order for us to give and receive love, we must not look for love externally; we must first understand what self-love feels like.
Many, incorrectly, search for and seek love externally in order to fill their internal emotional voids. One of the most common questions asked in romantic dating is “what are you looking for?” Those who know what self-love is don’t look for love, because love is not something one can find. Love is a process and a confluence of emotions that builds over time.
Those who look for love, are those who are looking for someone else to make their life fulfilling. Loving others without having self-love is like being on a ventilator to breath.
We must only love others because we want to and because we can; not because we are desperate or needy to be in love.
