Fear of Uncertainty

Fear of unfavorable outcomes guarantees lack of favorable outcomes.

“Uncertainty and lack of Control” which is one of Theory of Self Relativity’s 10-Enemies of self-improvement causes fear. Fear exists and gets magnified when we are facing with uncertainty and inability to guarantee favorable results. Be it fear of failure, fear of rejection or any other fear associated with a decision and action that we must take can become disabling and debilitating to a point where we continuously side with caution and abstain from taking any action that could improve our life.

Since change and improvement introduce variables with unknown outcomes, change and improvement inherently cause uncertainty and uncertainty and lack of control always leads to fear. Fear is intended to be a protective mechanism in order to minimize uncertainties that could be bad for our existence; however, if we allow fear to control us instead of us controlling our circumstances, we will not be able to change for the better.

In order to minimize fear, especially fear of uncertainty, we must learn to deal with reality as reality is and this could only be accomplished via Factual-Thinking. When we consider the facts associated with every thought, every decision and every action that we take regardless of how uncomfortable the facts may be, we will then have more confidence to go through the barriers of uncertainty in order to change things in our favor.
