The Secret

“If anyone claims to know the secret to something; it’s not a secret anymore, because they know it already.” 

There’s no reason for someone else to tell you that they have a secret because if it truly is a secret, then it should remain a secret. However, when someone tells you they know an important secret it is for one of the two following reasons:

1. They’re lying because they want to take advantage of you by enticing you in believing they know of something that you don’t so that they can get what they want from you.

2. They’re delusional and believe in fallacies; for example, believing they are connected to the supernatural.

There’s no reason for a secret to be publicized because if true, it wouldn’t be a secret anymore. Be it the secret to happiness or the secret to myths and mysteries or an investment or a pocket-listing that if others found out about it, it would appreciate in value; if something secretive has the potential of appreciation, it’s only logical that the person with the secret would want that thing exposed to the broadest possible opportunity for maximum gains. Therefore;

Secrets often come with the notion of making you feel “special”.

So, if someone tells you they have a secret; tell them “I don’t keep secrets among friends; show me the facts.”
